The website is not intended to knowingly collect personal data from children except where this is necessary for an eligible Miss Bulgaria activity or another specific event.

4. How We Use Personal Data

  • to operate, maintain and secure the website;
  • to process orders, payments, sponsorship purchases and other transactions;
  • to issue and administer invoices and accounting documents;
  • to communicate with customers, applicants, partners and website users;
  • to process casting/application forms and other requests submitted through the website;
  • to provide purchased services and fulfil contractual obligations;
  • to comply with accounting, tax, regulatory and other legal obligations;
  • to prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents and technical problems;
  • to analyse and improve the performance and functionality of the website, where permitted by law;
  • to measure marketing and advertising effectiveness, create audiences and perform limited campaign reporting where relevant technologies are enabled and the required consent has been obtained;
  • to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

5. Legal Bases for Processing

Depending on the context, we process personal data on one or more of the following legal bases under Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR):

  • performance of a contract or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b));
  • compliance with a legal obligation, including applicable accounting and tax requirements (Article 6(1)(c));
  • our legitimate interests in operating, protecting and improving the website and our activities, provided those interests do not override your rights and freedoms (Article 6(1)(f));
  • your consent, where consent is required (Article 6(1)(a)).

6. E-Commerce, WooCommerce and Payments

The website uses WordPress/WooCommerce functionality to administer online orders and customer billing information. Information entered at checkout is processed for order fulfilment, invoicing, customer service, accounting and legal compliance.

Online payments may be processed through Stripe. Stripe receives information necessary to process payments, prevent fraud and comply with its own legal obligations. Stripe may act as a processor and, for certain activities, as an independent controller. We do not control Stripe’s independent processing activities.

We may also use accounting, invoicing, fiscal or NRA/НАП-compatible service providers where required for the lawful recording and reporting of online sales.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The website may use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary for functions such as security, shopping cart, checkout, language preferences and session management. Other analytics, marketing or non-essential technologies, if used, will be subject to the consent requirements applicable under Bulgarian and EU law.

You can manage non-essential cookie choices through the website’s cookie controls where available and through your browser settings. Disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the website, including checkout, from functioning correctly.

Where enabled, analytics or marketing technologies may include services such as Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel or LinkedIn Insight Tag. These technologies will only be used where they are technically enabled and where the required consent or other applicable legal basis exists. If a relevant service or identifier is not configured, that technology should not be active.

For further information about cookies and your choices, please also see our Cookie Policy and the cookie consent settings available on the website.

8. Recipients and Service Providers

Personal data may be shared, only where necessary, with service providers supporting the operation of the website and our business, including:

  • website hosting, maintenance and technical service providers;
  • WordPress/WooCommerce-related service providers;
  • payment service providers, including Stripe;
  • accounting, invoicing and fiscal-compliance providers;
  • professional advisers such as accountants, lawyers and auditors;
  • public authorities, including the Bulgarian National Revenue Agency (NRA/НАП), where disclosure is required by law.

Service providers acting on our behalf are required to process personal data in accordance with applicable data-protection requirements and contractual safeguards.

9. International Transfers

Some service providers may process personal data outside Bulgaria or the European Economic Area. Where personal data is transferred outside the EEA, we rely on a lawful transfer mechanism required by the GDPR, such as an adequacy decision, Standard Contractual Clauses or another legally recognised safeguard.

10. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and to satisfy applicable legal, accounting, tax and contractual requirements.

Order, invoice and accounting information may be retained for the statutory periods required under Bulgarian law. Enquiry, application and correspondence data is retained for a period appropriate to the relevant relationship or purpose, unless a longer period is required for legal claims or compliance. Technical and security logs are retained only for an appropriate security and operational period.

11. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure or access. No internet-based service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the nature of the data and processing.

  • request erasure of personal data;
